You receive a total of 13 weeks of live support. Live sessions are Wednesdays 11 am to 1 pm EST. 

Absolutely not! This is a very robust training with lots of opportunity to ask questions and go deeper into what you already know. I can assure you this is a comprehensive program that covers ALL your bases from home funerals, being at the bedside, advance care planning AND setting up your business or taking your business to the next level so that you are ready to work with clients.

One of the pillars of this program is business development. Many people who have taken a death doula training did not receive the mentorship nor business development training needed to excel in this field. This program is for you!

The live calls are where the magic happens! This is a wonderful aspect of our shared learning experience - a great chance to connect with Karry and with one another. You get to discover more about that week’s topic, learn from others’ experiences, ask questions and receive real time feedback. We create connection and a feeling of being deeply seen within our community. 

I understand if you need to miss the odd session or two because of illness, travel or extenuating circumstances though I encourage you to attend sessions the best that you are able. All of our sessions are recorded and uploaded to the portal so you will be able to view them after.

Yes! If you choose the Group + Private Coaching option you receive 10 one-hour sessions with Karry.

Karry will also personally answer your questions during the Group Coaching Sessions.

You will receive a certificate of completion, but just so we’re transparent… you don’t “need” a certification to work as a death doula. 

The Life and Death Academy’s training is very robust, filled with practical skills, expert guest workshops, mindset training, and business fundamentals so that you have everything you need to start working with clients.

Absolutely! And I designed this course with full-time workers in mind.

A safe estimate for keeping up with the pace of the program is 2 hours per week. However, if you’re like me and want to devour all the training you can get, you can do the optional readings, practice skills during the week and invest more time towards growing your business. 

I get it, family is important to me, too. However if you want to grow a business, I would look at how prioritizing this program will help you to live a more fulfilling life. Plus, in this training we look at boundary setting, putting yourself first, and being present with who you are with in the moment. Don’t let the ache of an unanswered calling continue to drain your energy.

Death work is for any age. If you have a willingness to lean in and support the end of life journey, this training is for you.

Though many women are interested in the work, this training is not exclusive to women. All are welcome!

This program is unlike any other. We bring together all the essential components to be successful: mentorship and community, training that encompasses deathcare pragmatics, navigating mindset and emotions and building a business.

There are no formal prerequisites required for participation in this program. You do not have to have attended a death, offered palliative care to a loved one or work in healthcare to be eligible for this training.

Both! In fact it's not limited to North America. The skills for caring for the dying aren't geographically based, so 90% of the training is universal. During the teachings about legalities, substitute decision making, forms and permits you will be offered information relevant to you or shown how to obtain it.
